The use of the World Wide Web
has been expanding at a phenomenal rate. The number of Vietnamese used the
Internet is increasing rapidly. It began with using the email, forums, and
chat rooms to contact and exchange opinions with others around the world.
Then users began to build their personal home pages as the first taste of
the Internet.
Vietnamese Web sites increasing
Over the past few years, Vietnamese businesses and organizations began to
use the Internet and the World Wide Web as a new means of expanding voices
and businesses. Over the past few years, we have seen many good Vietnamese Web
sites in the Internet.
Font matters
Internet users are
not often able to read Vietnamese on many Vietnamese Web sites. Others are
confused because they can read Vietnamese on some Web sites, but can't on
others. The problem is there is no Vietnamese font standard used on the
Internet yet. Although, there are many standards, which have been proposed.
They're still in progress.
Reading Vietnamese on Web
We provide instructions on how to download and set up some popular font
systems that have been extensively by many Vietnamese Web sites. Our final
suggestion is that whenever you get to specific Web site, look for hints
that may say what type of Vietnamese font that it is using. Then you can
download the fonts and configure your browser. We will show you how to
download, install, and configure fonts on your computer soon.

specific Web page in which instructions and font download are
provided. Best of all, they are free to download.
