Introduction
It is not easy for
many Vietnamese born and raised in Vietnam to write about our culture.
Often, when submersed in it we don't realize that the New Year celebration, the
Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, or the leaf hat that some of us wear and fish sauce
we cook with are distinctively ours. And usually, it is not until we experience other cultures do we become aware of our own.
Our VietMedia team
has labored over this section in hope that it will help anyone interested to
learn more about the beauty and richness of Vietnamese traditions. In addition we hope to remind the younger Vietnamese
generations, especially those living outside Vietnam, of their unique heritage.
We are open to any
constructive comments or opinions. Please feel free to email
VietMedia
if you have any concerns.
